100 Students Educated about Law and Fight Prevention

As many as 100 students from 28 middle, high, and vocational schools in Cipayung Sub-district, East Jakarta, participated in legal awareness training and socialization on brawl issues at SMKN 51 Cipayung, Thursday (8/8).

It was opened by East Jakarta City Legal Section Head, Dedi Efrizal with speakers Wahyu Warsito, Young Expert Legal Counselor for Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, with material on Drug Abuse Prevention, as well as AKP Sri Yatmini, East Jakarta Metro Police PPA Unit Head who raised legal issues for perpetrators of brawls.
According to him, it was following up on the results of a meeting of the leadership of the East Jakarta City Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimko) held last Wednesday (8/7) at the mayor's office.

He added it needed to get support from elements of society, teachers, thus intensive development of students was conducted.
Cipayung Sub-district Head, Panangaran Ritonga added his party also responded positively to socialization and educational activities for these students. Hopefully, there would be no more cases of brawls in his area involving students.
Currently, a school security team has been made in the area to monitor the area. This team consisted of 39 schools, ranging from SMP, SMA, SMK, and Tsanawiyah education levels.
"This team every night of the week takes part in monitoring the area together with elements of the three pillars. Thus, no students are involved in brawls at night," he added.
He added students caught involved in brawls would be handed over to the guidance and counseling teacher. However, if the guidance and counseling teacher is unable to handle it, the case will be handed over to the police.
SMA and SMK Education Section Head, Siti Halimah hoped that students who take part in this activity can disseminate the material they learn to their peers at school.
"Hopefully, there will be no more cases of brawls, bullying or drugs in East Jakarta," he hoped.
